Mainly used for machining centers and gantry milling machines, among which lightweight can be installed in the tool magazine and can be freely converted between the tool magazine and the machine spindle; Medium and heavy-duty have high rigidity and torque, making them suitable for most processing needs.
Due to the expansion of the performance of the milling head, it is equivalent to adding an axis to the machine tool, and even more practical than a fourth axis in situations where large workpieces are difficult to flip or require high precision.

Types of universal milling heads
1. Lightweight universal milling head - This type of milling head is characterized by its light weight (usually around 10kg), high accuracy, low torque, and the ability to automatically change tools in the tool magazine. This type of milling head is positioned with a positioning block, and the output is generally a cylinder clamp or BT30 taper handle. Sometimes there are special ones that can output CAT or HSK tool holders, and some special ones can be directly connected to a wire tapping or face milling cutter.
2. Heavy duty universal milling head - This type of milling head is characterized by heavy weight (usually around 100kg), average accuracy, and high torque, and can only be applied to gantry machine tools. This type of milling head is fixed and locked with a connecting plate, and can support any type of output for processing.
3. Powerful universal milling head - This type of milling head is characterized by heavy weight (usually around 100kg), high precision, high speed, and high torque, and is relatively expensive. It can only be used on gantry machine tools. This type of milling head is fixed and locked with a connecting plate, and can support any type of output for processing.

Universal milling head application scenarios
1. When fixing large workpieces is difficult and used in simple machining;
2. Precision workpieces, fixed at once, when multiple surfaces need to be machined;
3. When machining at any angle relative to the reference plane;
4. Process and maintain a special angle for contour milling of pins, such as during ball end milling;
5. When the milling head or other tools cannot penetrate the hole to process small holes;
6. Diagonal holes, inclined slots, etc. that cannot be machined by machining centers, such as internal holes in engines and casings.
Precautions for universal milling head
1. Generally, non-contact oil seals are used for milling heads. If cooling water is used during the machining process, it is necessary to operate it before spraying water and adjust the direction of the cooling water nozzle to spray water towards the tool, which can avoid the risk of cooling water infiltrating the body and extend its service life.
2. Avoid prolonged continuous processing and operation at the highest speed.
3. Refer to the parameter characteristics of each type of milling head and use it under appropriate processing conditions.
4. Before use, it is necessary to confirm the number of minutes of trial operation for the heat engine. During each processing, it is necessary to choose the appropriate speed and feed rate for machining. The speed, feed rate, and cutting depth during processing should be adjusted gradually until maximum processing efficiency is achieved.
5. When processing standard milling heads, it is necessary to avoid materials that may generate dust and particles (such as graphite, carbon, magnesium, and other composite materials)
